For the Fritter Bites:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 Egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 Apples such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, peeled, cored, and finely diced
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- Frying Oil vegetable or canola
For the Glaze:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp Milk
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Prep the Batter:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
In a separate bowl, whisk the milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture, mixing until just combined.
Fold in the diced apples.
Fry the Fritters:
Heat about 2 inches of oil in a frying pan or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
Carefully drop tablespoon-sized portions of the batter into the hot oil, frying a few at a time.
Fry for about 1-2 minutes per side or until golden brown, then transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Glaze the Fritters:
In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
