- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, granulated sugar, melted butter or coconut oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can result in a dense banana bread.
- If desired, fold in any optional add-ins such as chopped nuts, chocolate chips, or dried fruit.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
- Once cooled, slice the banana bread and serve. Enjoy it plain, with a spread of butter, or with a drizzle of honey.
