- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
- In the saucepan, sauté the green beans and onion in butter until tender.
- In a separate mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, black pepper, and salt. Stir until smooth.
- Add the cooked green beans and onions to the soup mixture and stir until coated.
- Pour the mixture into the 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle the French-fried onions over the top of the casserole.
- Bake for 25 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown and the casserole is hot and bubbly.
