Preheat the Waffle Iron:
- Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Prepare the Batter:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- In another mixing bowl, beat the eggs until light and frothy.
- Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the beaten eggs, and whisk until smooth and well combined.
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
- Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients.
- Stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix. A few lumps in the batter are okay.
Cook the Waffles:
- Lightly grease the waffle iron with cooking spray or melted butter.
- Pour enough batter onto the center of the preheated waffle iron to cover about 2/3 to 3/4 of the surface (the amount will depend on the size of your waffle iron).
- Close the waffle iron and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions, typically for 3-5 minutes, or until the waffles are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
- Use a spatula to carefully remove the cooked waffles from the waffle iron and transfer them to a plate.
Serve and Enjoy:
- Serve the waffles immediately while they are hot and crispy.
- Serve with your favorite toppings, such as maple syrup, butter, fresh fruit, whipped cream, or chocolate sauce.
