Cook the Meat Mixture:
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and sausage until fully cooked. Drain excess grease.
Melt the Cheese:
- Reduce the heat to low and add the cubed processed cheese to the skillet. Stir constantly until the cheese is fully melted and combined with the meat.
Season the Mixture:
- Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well.
Prepare the Bread Base:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper. Lay out the cocktail rye bread slices in a single layer.
- Assemble:
- Spoon a generous amount of the meat and cheese mixture onto each slice of bread.
Bake:
- Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the edges of the bread are crisp and the topping is slightly bubbly.
Serve:
- Remove from the oven and serve warm. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
